◆The spiral is the light. An LED inside the brass column feeds a clear acrylic ribbon from its inner edge, so a turning line of light is all you see. No bulb, no shade.
◆Touch dimmer in the base. Press to switch on, hold to run the brightness anywhere you want it. The control is set flush into the brass so nothing breaks the line.
◆Three light colours from one button. Warm amber for the evening, neutral in between, and a cleaner white when you need the room more awake.
◆Sized for a nightstand. 13.4 in (34 cm) tall on a 5.1 in (13 cm) base, about the height of a wine bottle, so it reads as intentional without taking over the surface.

The Helix Brass Table Lamp runs a single ribbon of clear acrylic in a spiral around a slim brushed brass column. The light sits inside the column and feeds the ribbon from its inner edge, so what you see glowing is the outline of the spiral rather than a bulb. The effect is a line of light turning through the air with almost nothing holding it up.
The ribbon is finely textured, close to a fabric mesh held in glass, which catches the light across its face instead of throwing a hard reflection. Against the warm brass it reads more like a piece of small sculpture than a lamp, and it holds that even when it is switched off.
A touch dimmer sits flush in the brass base. One press for on, hold to run the brightness up or down, and a second control on the cord steps through three colour temperatures, from a warm amber through neutral to a cleaner white. Nothing to pair and no app.
At 13.4 inches (34 cm) tall it is a bedside and console lamp, tall enough to read as intentional next to a stack of books and small enough that it never takes over the surface.

There is a touch control set flush into the top of the brass base. A single press turns it on and off, and pressing and holding runs the brightness up and down so you can stop wherever you want it. There is no separate switch on the cord for brightness.
A small button on the cord steps between the three colour temperatures. Warm is amber and suits an evening, neutral sits in between, and the cool white is closer to daylight. It remembers the last setting when you switch it back on.
Clear acrylic, with a fine diamond texture across the face. Acrylic is what lets the edge carry the light the way it does, and it means the ribbon can be this thin without being fragile. Glass at this thickness would not survive shipping.
At full brightness it is fine for reading in bed at close range. It is designed as an accent and mood light rather than a task lamp, so if you read for long stretches you would want something more direct alongside it.
It is a brushed brass finish on metal rather than solid brass, so it holds its colour and will not develop a patina. Wipe it with a dry cloth if it picks up fingerprints.
The LED is integrated into the column rather than being a replaceable bulb. That is what allows the light to feed the acrylic ribbon evenly from inside, and LEDs of this type are rated for many years of normal evening use.

Touch control is a small silver disc set flush into the base. Tap for on, hold to bring the brightness up or down, and it stops wherever you let go.
Better looking lit than the listing photos manage to show. The acrylic has a fine mesh texture across the face that picks up the light instead of just reflecting it.
The glowing edge is the whole thing. The brass column stays dark and the light runs along the rim of the spiral, so you get a line of light turning in the air rather than a lit shade.
Good build for the price. The base has real weight to it and the column is solid rather than hollow feeling. The acrylic ribbon is the only part that feels light, which makes sense given what it is.
Ordered this to replace a conventional shade lamp on a bedside table and it has completely changed how that corner of the room feels. It gives out less light than the old one, which sounds like a downside and is not, because the light it does give is soft and warm and at the right height. The touch dimmer means I can take it right down without getting out of bed.
Nice piece and it arrived quickly and well packed. The spiral is acrylic rather than glass which the listing is clear about, and honestly acrylic is the right call because glass this thin would never survive shipping.
What sold me was the idea that the light source is invisible and the shade is the thing that glows, and that is exactly how it works. An LED inside the brass column feeds the inner edge of the acrylic ribbon, so the outline of the spiral lights up while the column stays dark. Standing next to it you can see the light travelling along the edge of the acrylic, which is genuinely lovely and not something a photo captures well.
Genuinely well made. The base has enough weight that pressing the touch control does not shift it, the column is straight and solid, and the spiral is attached cleanly with no visible glue or bracket where it meets the rod. Those are the places these things usually go wrong and none of them do here.
Attractive lamp and the dimmer works well. Mine is noticeably brighter on the cool setting than the warm one, which I did not expect, so the warm setting ends up being the only one I use in the evening. Still pleased with it.
The material combination is what makes it work. Brushed brass and clear textured acrylic sounds like it could look cheap and it does not, because the brass is warm and matte rather than shiny gold, and the acrylic reads more like glass than plastic once it is lit. It looks like a considerably more expensive lamp than it is.
Looks good and does the job. The acrylic picks up dust in the texture more than a smooth surface would, so it needs a wipe more often than I would like. Nothing that would stop me recommending it.
Have had this on a console for a couple of months now and it is the light we turn on first in the evening. The warm setting at about half brightness fills that corner without lighting the whole room, and the spiral throws a soft pattern onto the wall behind it that I did not expect and really like.
Bought a pair for either side of a bed and they look excellent together. Because the spiral is asymmetric they read as a matched pair rather than a mirrored one, which I prefer.
I bought this expecting a gimmick and it is not one. The acrylic ribbon is edge lit so the light traces the spiral, which is a much more interesting effect in person than any photo conveys. It throws a soft glow rather than a beam, and on the lowest setting it is a lovely thing to leave on in the evening.
Really nice lamp. The one thing to know is that it is an accent light rather than a reading lamp. At full brightness you could read close to it, but if you read in bed for an hour you would want something more direct as well.
The colour temperature button on the cord cycles warm, neutral and cool. Warm is a proper amber and is where it lives most of the time. The cool setting is useful when I am working at the desk it sits on.
The touch dimmer is the detail that makes it feel considered. It sits flush in the brass base with no visible switch or rocker on the lamp itself, so the silhouette stays completely clean. Press and hold and it runs smoothly through the whole brightness range.
Sits on a nightstand at about the height of a wine bottle, which is exactly right. Tall enough to read as a proper lamp, short enough that you are never looking into it when you are lying down.
Very happy with it overall. Two small notes for anyone deciding. First, the colour temperature control is on the cord rather than on the base, so you reach for the cable to change it and the base to dim it. Second, it is smaller than the photos suggest, around thirteen inches, which for me was a positive but is worth measuring for.
It is one of very few lamps I have owned where the off state matters as much as the on state. During the day it is a brass and glass object on the console, at night it becomes the light.
Brass finish is brushed rather than polished, so it does not throw glare and does not show fingerprints the way a mirror finish would. It reads warm against oak and walnut.
